Sit-Stand desks
are gaining popularity in our ever-increasing sedentary culture. As we look for ways to rise from our office chairs,
adjusting the height of your work surface
has become very attractive. According to researchers, there are health benefits derived from integrating a sit-stand desk into your
office environment
but the jury is still out as to how significant it is. I’ll leave the banter of pros and cons to you, but we know from our own experience that it is helpful, both mentally and physically. Movement variation allows
positive changes
to posture and distributes weight differently when moving from a sitting position to standing (and vise versa). A UK study concluded that participants in the study showed improvement in job performance, work engagement, occupational fatigue, and quality of life. Sounds pretty convincing.
